The Story Continues:

Equipping with a YES on the alter for whatever he asks of us...
Life Now
House of Moses comes to a finalization and close December 2022.  With a decade of miracles and provision, we know this next season looks different.  Haiti is forever in our hearts and with daily prayers and the weight of the instability we carry our loved ones.  We continue the work that God has called to privately and on a lesser scale as the Call to missions locally and globally is not only Biblical obedience but the heart of Jesus.

Currenly...Counseling and Shepherding is the season of ministry we are in.  Advocacy is a passion that our heart for restoration and healing is committed to.  Foster, adoptive care; marriage...
John is currently interim for a local church and we will continue to serve where called.
We will not back up, shut up or let up until we are taken up.
We have a HUGE family to love on until the Lord calls us home and will continue to do so!

Today with 13 graduated from university in 3 different countries - Bondages are being broken and THEY are part of the 1%!

Where We Started...

We thought we were finished...
In July of 2011, Christi and I stepped away from a 17 year stretch of Youth Ministry. I remember the last Sunday morning I shared with the students at Trinity Bible Church, I felt a confirmation that “Youth Ministry” as we knew it was over. After all we were on our way to Northwest Haiti to serve alongside and Shepherd Haitian Pastors and American Missionaries.

A call to come back...
At one of the first meetings held with the staff in Haiti, it was mentioned there was a great need for someone to walk beside 12 High School students, who were given up by their parents, that were living at the mission. To be honest within a few seconds after I heard this plea, there was a deep conviction from God to step up and answer this call. Instead I sat quietly listening to the rest of the meeting. A few days later through prayer and continued conviction, Christi and I said we would lead a Bible Study for these students.

More than a Bible Study...
After a few weeks leading the study, we began to develop a great love for these students. They began to open up and share their journey with us. After a few more weeks we were seeing a trust develop. We went from an 2 hour Bible Study to them being at our house and engaged in our familyʼs life.

The calling to the House of Moses
A few more months together and God begin to show us a great need for students such as the ones were serving. The great need being a healthy and purposeful reentry of “orphans” into their culture. Through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and Godʼs reaffirming this through other orphanages sharing with us the great need in helping high school students reenter we knew this was something He was calling us to. Most orphanages are really good at the early stages of care and development of a child, but what do you do as they grow beyond the “cute” stage. We saw the great need to begin a ministry for students such as these. Students that had great care early on in their lives, but now they needed a different type of attention. No longer did they need someone to carry them around and play games; they needed something much greater. They needed discipleship and people to walk beside them, teaching what true Christian leadership is all about, so when they reenter their culture they succeed as followers of Christ and pass on what was given to them.
